WKA assisted the Fairfield Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency with their review and permitting of a new train station and associated environmental remediation and ecological restoration.  LANDTECH of Westport, Connecticut designed the ecological restoration. All areas of the site 35-acre site were heavily contaminated from past industrial uses.  The project included the remediation of the contaminated soils and the construction 10 acres of coastal upland and wetland habitat for use as a parkland. New walking paths with areas of boardwalks were included to provide access throughout the newly created 10-acre ‘park’.
