Bozena ‘Genna’ Kupinska Landscape Architect

Bozena ‘Genna’ Kupinska, a native of Poland, has both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Landscape Architecture from the Agricultural University of Warsaw. She completed post-graduate work at the University of Bristol’s Botanical Garden in United Kingdom.

Genna is a registered landscape architect in New York State and Connecticut. She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and Council of Landscape Architects Review Board (CLARB). With almost 20 years of experience, Genna has worked on a variety of projects including urban designs, high-end residential properties, commercial developments and institutional works. She holds a title of Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediments Control (CPESC) that allows her to work on landscapes involving land disturbance, land development and land management. Genna is also LEED-AP certified. She has a knowledge of the green building movement and can contribute her expertise to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings and neighborhoods that save energy, use fewer resources, reduce pollution, and contribute to healthier environments for their occupants and the community.

Before joining William Kenny Associates, Genna worked for Town & Gardens, Ltd., a design-build firm in Manhattan, and a high-end landscape architecture company, Benedek & Ticehurst, where she contributed to many of the firms’ most prestigious projects. Genna is a strong advocate of sustainable design. She believes a design should be based on a deep understanding of natural systems, harmonizing beauty and ecological function. She uses her imagination and experience to help integrate landscapes with the built and natural environment, creating a complementary relationship that brings holistic, aesthetic impression to its users while supporting the goals of the clients. Through her designs, Genna creates landscapes that provide a space for renewal, inspiration and transformation.
